I officially left Italy and I’m on my way to EFIL‘s Volunteer Summer Summit, this year in Bosnia. This summit is a meeting of European AFS volunteers, the organization with which I went in exchange to Germany for a year in high school.
I left Florence by train in the direction of Ancona where I caught a ferry to Split, Croatia. All ferry companies make approximately the same prices, the difference in price only varies in the type of comfort that is intended. I chose the cheaper option, the reclining chairs, and it was more than enough! There were people who also booked these type of chairs but preferred to sleep on the carpeted floor. The ferry takes 9 hours and has a(n) (expensive) restaurant on board.
I can not say I know Ancona, only what I saw from its port, but it was still wonderful!
