I never imagined going to São Tomé in my first month of TAP, but through the exchange system, I managed to do it. The layover in São Tomé is one of the most desired, not only for the destination itself, but also because is one the places where we stay longer. In this case, 50 hours. I was very lucky with the company, not only with the crew, but with the company they brought in. There were nine of us in total, and it was the first time on the island for most, so everyone was eager to explore and we decided to rent two jeeps to go to the south of the island on the first day.
Although it is only 60km to each side, the road is not easy, lots of curves and some holes. We also made several stops along the way, first to visit the Praia da Pesqueira Waterfall, then to take pictures with Pico Cão Grande and finally at the southern end of the island, at Praia Inhame, where we had a nice swim, had lunch and took a boat to the Ilha das Rolas, where the Ecuador line passes. On the way back we dined at Roça São João dos Angolares, an experience that was totally worth it!
